How does my new tilt and trim work?

huskerboat I have a 16' Chrysler with an 85hp Force outboard. I just installed a power tilt and trim, I'm not sure how to use them for the most benefit? Holeshot, speed, etc. [Eek!] 2002-05-12
FlyBoyMark Tuck it all the way in for hole shot as you accelerate, trim out till you stop gaining speed or porpoising starts...or in some cases, some boats jus' trim the bow way to high an the boat slows down. Start process over when you stop and do another whole shot. Settings will vary per load of gear and people. You can also leave it set for your best cruising speed but hole shot will suffer. AND most important...when your in shallow water....TRIM IT OUT...to keep from bangn' the dern thing! An additional trim gage really helps in presetting the motor in some instances.
