Stringer material

pra100 Dumb thought but has any one considered using any of the newer composite lumber, made from recycled plastics in say stringer repair.I saw a show on this stuff and they claimed it was as strong as comparible lumber and water prof.I e-mailed a couple of companies that make this stuff and they said that epoxy would stick to it and rot and water wouldn't effect it.They said it was being used for boat docks now with great sucess.I looked at some composite lumber at a local lumber yard and it did look strong to me.
Anybody got any thoughts on this stuff.

crab bait It's not intended to be used as stand alone lumber.. it's not for structure.. it's way to soft...

it's only to be used as plankin' for decks an such with supports on 16 in.centers..
